Matt Ng - Development Board Chair

Member since June 2013

Matt was born in Hong Kong before moving to Canada at an early age. He grew up playing sports with his older brother and friends. Matt played sports for his high school teams which included basketball, volleyball, tennis, and badminton. He won a Provincial Championship in badminton (yes, it's a real sport) in 2001, and that happens to be the only highlight in his athletic career. Matt then went on to coach youth sports and work with youth-at-risk for the City of Coquitlam Parks and Recreation for 10 years.

We recognize that our work as Canada SCORES Vancouver takes place on the ancestral, traditional and unceded territories of the xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam), Sḵwx̱wú7mesh Úxwumixw (Squamish), səl̓ilw̓ətaʔɬ (Tsleil-Waututh), q̓íc̓əy̓ (Katzie), kʷikʷəƛ̓əm (Kwikwetlem), qiqéyt (Qayqayt), q̓ʷɑ:n̓ƛ̓ən̓ (Kwantlen), SEMYOME (Semiahmoo), and sc̓əwaθən məsteyəxʷ (Tsawwassen) First Nations. Our work as Canada SCORES Toronto takes place on the Lands of the Great Mississauga Nations who are signatories to the Williams Treaty. These communities include the Mississaugas of Scugog Island, First Nations of Alderville, Beausoleil, Curve Lake, Hiawatha, Chippewas of Georgina Island, and Rama. This land allows us to come together to live, learn, play and show allyship in the journey towards equity.

Canada SCORES Vancouver is a registered charity in British Columbia also operating as Canada SCORES Toronto in Ontario, Canada and both chapters are affiliates of America SCORES.
