SCORES Ambassador Signs With Tides

Halifax Tides FC has kicked off its journey in the Northern Super League with a huge statement, signing Canadian soccer legend and Olympic gold medalist Erin McLeod as the club's very first player. Known as one of Canada’s all-time great goalkeepers, McLeod brings an unmatched level of experience, with two Olympic medals and multiple FIFA Women’s World Cup appearances under her belt.

For McLeod, the move feels personal. “I’m so excited to join the Tides and come back to a city that’s so close to my heart,” she shared. Having previously worked with Halifax’s soccer community through clinics and youth programs, McLeod’s passion for growing the game at all levels shines through.

Tides Sporting Director Amit Batra emphasized how McLeod’s leadership will set the tone for the team’s debut season in spring 2025, praising her commitment to nurturing talent across Canada. Head Coach Lewis Page echoed the excitement, saying her professionalism and drive will be central to building the team’s identity.

With McLeod leading the way, Halifax Tides FC is off to an inspiring start—and the city’s soccer future has never looked brighter.
